Published: "The Garden That Grew Inside My Chest" in The Literature Garden

I've been sitting on this one for a little while, so it feels good to finally say it out loud — I have a poem published in The Literature Garden's What Is Home issue, and I'm genuinely proud of it.

The prompt asked writers to explore what home means to them. I didn't go the obvious route. Instead I ended up writing about the body — about the things that take root in you without asking, the hunger that decides to stay. The poem is called "The Garden That Grew Inside My Chest" and it's probably one of the more personal things I've put out.

If you've read any of my fiction you'll recognize the obsession. Something grows. Something stays. It doesn't ask permission.
